The GKAC is a cultural consortium comprised of the Festival sur le Niger Foundation, the Kôrè Cultural Center, and the Kôrè Institute of Arts and Crafts (IKAM). It operates as an integrated group, pooling human resources in a dynamic of synergy, solidarity, and mutual support.
As such, the GKAC can represent each of its member entities when necessary. However, each entity retains its autonomy in management, decision-making, and action.
The organizations that make up the consortium are legally distinct and each possesses its own legal personality. They collaborate closely, based on complementarity and synergy, in service of the group’s overall interest.
The GKAC entities thus pool their efforts, skills, and resources around a shared vision. They base their actions on the values of Maaya, particularly solidarity, mutual support, and sharing. This approach is embodied in the concept of Maaya Cultural Entrepreneurship, created and tested for over twenty years in Ségou by Mamou Daffé and his team.
